Historical Miniatures

I'm a historical gamer myself. I particularly like making DBA armies and playing boards, and right now am hard at work (heh) on my Corinthian Greek 25mm army for Warhammer Ancients. However, I am not what you would call a rigidly accurate painter when I do my own work--I don't put a lot of thought into "what dye colors would have been available to the average Welsh peasant in 1570?"

I understand, however, that there are many gamers out there who feel quite strongly about the historical accuracy of the paint jobs on their armies, and I can certainly appreciate that desire! I am always happy to paint your army to your specifications; all you have to do is tell me what you want. Or, better yet--show me!

Frequently clients will loan me an Osprey book along with their commission, and point to the color plates and say, "This is how they need to look." So feel free to be as picky as you like about historical accuracy, as long as you let me know about it before I start painting!

Fantasy Miniatures

Fantasy is what I've painted the most of over the years. I have it pretty well down pat and can work quickly on orcs, undead, dwarves, goblins, etc. I like to do hand painted shield designs, as opposed to decals, because I think it gives the units a more individual look.

For instance, a beastman's shield is pretty crude looking, but then again, who'd be painting their shields for them? They'd do it themselves, and I can't imagine Beastmen really spending a lot of time on artistic pursuits...

If you have existing miniatures you want me to match, send me a sample. While I may not produce an identical paint job, I'll probably come close. Likewise, if you have a specific color in mind for a unit, let me know the specifics (bright red or dark red? orangey red or purple-ey red?) and I'll do it!

Sci-Fi Miniatures

Remember that while I hate to admit it, I'm NOT a 40K player, and as such haven't memorized the particular unit colors or logos. Likewise Battletech Mechs, or Warzone units, or whatever.

Please give me very specific guidelines for how you want the figs to look! If you're trying to match figures you already have painted on your own, just send me a figure to use as a model, and I'll copy it.

Regarding unit insignias on Space Marines and other figs; I can either apply the decals that come with your figures, or handpaint on unit markings. Obviously, the decals will look far more uniform--but if you're doing an unusual unit, something from Chapter Approved or something, you may not have decals. If that's the case, send me a scan or a picture of the shoulder logo you want on the figures. I can copy pretty well, and should be able to make the unit look good! Pricing is the same as for fantasy/historicals that require shield designs.

Scenics

I don’t do a lot of scenery, but am always happy to take it on. Pricing varies greatly depending on the size and detail of the piece, and whether any assembly is required.
